How to Use BABOO® Manual Breast Pump
Step 1: Prepare for Pumping
Wait 2-4 weeks postpartum until your milk supply and breastfeeding are established, unless advised otherwise by a healthcare professional. Exceptions include breastfeeding difficulties, hospital feeding, engorged breasts, sore nipples, or separation from your baby—express regularly in these cases.
Step 2: Choose Optimal Time
Select the best time to pump, such as before or after your baby’s morning feed when breasts are full, or after a feed if both weren’t used. Use a break if at work.
Step 3: Get Comfortable
Sit comfortably on a chair or sofa, lean back, and relax—avoid leaning forward during pumping.
Step 4: Stimulate Let-Down Reflex
Relax and use your senses (e.g., look at a baby photo or listen to calming sounds) to encourage the let-down reflex for milk release.
Step 5: Fit the Breast Shield
Place the breast shield funnel over one breast, ensuring your nipple is centered for the silicone massage pad to create an airtight seal.
Step 6: Begin Suction
Gently press the handle down (not fully) and let it return to its starting position. Feel the suction—repeat for 1-3 minutes to massage and stimulate the let-down reflex.
Step 7: Express Milk
When milk flows, press the handle fully down and hold for up to 3 seconds before releasing. Repeat while milk continues to flow.
Step 8: Adjust as Needed
If milk flow slows, return to Step 5 and reposition the shield, repeating the process.
Step 9: Switch Breasts
Swap between breasts every 5-7 minutes, pumping for a total of 20-30 minutes.
